I had the great pleasure of meeting David at an AACC meeting and he introduced me to the CLAS (Clinical Ligand Assay Society) organization.  He was on the board of CLAS and convinced me to participate on the board as well..  
What a brilliant, kind and gentle soul.   I enjoyed our Board Meeting get-togethers until he moved to Virginia, when I lost touch with him
