Dale and I were freshman roommates at Randolph-Macon College. Athletes were paired up in the dorms. Dale was a basketball player, and I a football player. We got along extremely well, despite our distinct regional differences. I won't say Dale 'talked funny,' this being a tribute, after all! He was not only a fine athlete, he was an exceptional math student, and faithful friend.
