I am so sorry to learn of the death of Charles Umbanhowar. He and Hendrika were good friends when I lived in Northfield many years ago. I was the fortunate recipient of their generosity for many Thanksgivings. The spirit at these occasions was always high and stimulating. Charles was simply a lovely, open person.
