I am heartbroken to lose Charlie from our world. It’s hard to imagine Cambridge ever being the same. He was a steady presence to a fault. I loved talking about everything, anything and even nothing with him. He was an important person in my growing up as was his wife Isa. He always demonstrated warmth, understanding, acceptance, integrity and decency which was a model for my life.
I only met Charlie a few times, visiting his neighbors, the Adlers, on the high holidays, but he made a great impression on me, his character, his knowledge, his musical sensitivity, his quiet resoluteness. He will be greatly missed, by many.
I met Charlie through HILR. I always admired his sweetness, curiosity, gentleness and optimism. I shall miss him.
