Cathy, my sister-in-law, Pat’s sister:
She always hosted us in your home so gracefully when we visited from Normandy. Her family was and is our family. And Tom is always and forever my brother.
If our youngest daughter is called Cathleen, it’s because of you Cathy and we are very proud of that lineage.
Tom made the decision to stay by you until the end. What a beautiful show of LOVE !!
And we admire him very much for that.
I reminisce their wedding in Chicago: Cathy’s young age (for the US) forbade her to have a glass of Champagne, so we dutifully hided the precious liquid in a soft drink glass. If I remember well, it was pink.
While still finishing my Chiropractic studies in Chicago, we were often together and we appreciated being family.
When they moved to Lafayette, we visited quite often and it was always cheerful and I remember Cathy telling us that one day (because of St Andrea’s fault) they will have a property on the beach and once, there was a bigger “shake” than usual and she was in her shower wondering  if she was going outside naked or going to die clean in her shower ?
Recently, she had the good idea to re-unite her American family and our French family to celebrate our 40th & 50th wedding anniversaries (Our weddings were close) while cruising in the Caribbean, what a feast that was for everyone !
Recently, with Pat,  we made a surprise trip to California to celebrate her 70th birthday in Santa Barbara with Rob’s family, what fun we had ! And I cherish the stop we made in Morro Bay on the drive back to Alamo.
I know, it seems a little bit short for a life span of more than half a century but we keep in mind so many good moments that we shared with Cathy, Tom, Rob and Joe.
We are near you all, with our unfailing LOVE. We pray for our Cathy.
May she rest in peace to enjoy being free of pain forever.

Cathy always knew how to welcome us warmly when we came to see you at La Fayette, the first times with my parents Jean Dom and Pat when I was a child and todler, then adult with Gerald and finally with our daughter Louise.
She always spoke of her children and grandchildren with tenderness and sparkles in her eyes.
She will forever be a part of my life
Rest in peace Cathy
With all our love

Memories of Cathy

We  had a very special friendship with Tom and Cathy. A friendship that grew over the years. It started with Tom and Ben at ASTM meetings and gradually included Carol and Cathy. As the friendship grew we met once a year nor only at meetings but Paris, Montreal, Jamestown, California New Orleans and more.

We loved them both and important part of our life will be missing.

To the family of Cathy: I observed the loving devotion, advocacy, and care Tom provided. We see a lot of journeys at the end of life in palliative care and can truly say you were such a remarkably devoted husband at ensuring the comfort and peace for your wife!

Cathy was a true friend who was generous, hospitable, smart, candid and kind. I met her 26 years ago when she transferred from Kaiser Oakland to Kaiser Walnut Creek where we both worked as RN's on the maternity unit. Jim, my husband and I,  shared  many dinner parties with Cathy and Tom and I am so thankful for these happy memories. May Cathy rest in peace. Love Dee and Jim Morris
