Carolyn Sue White, 82, of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home while surrounded by family and close friends on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017
Born to parenets Howard and Hattie Oxendine in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, she lived in various citys but ultimately settled down in Pittsburg and was a resident for 62 years. She was known and loved by many students who grew up in the area, as she worked for Pittsburg School District for over 20 years as a Cafeteria Manager for Highlands Elementary School, Los Medanos Elementary School, and Pittsburg High School.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Reggie White on June 22, 2013, and is survived by her three loving children Debbie (Kenny) Doan of Sparks, NV; Mark (Penny) White of Twain Harte, CA;  and Shane (George) Camper-White of Kirkland, WA; Grandchildren Gina (Tony) Townsell, Jamie (Joe) Kulikowski, Greg (Amy) White, Brian (Torina) White, Lauren White, Krista (Sam) Sturgis, Allison (Tyler) Ostenberg, Jeff Camper; and Great Grandchildren Andrew Clawson, Chance Callister, Jalen Townsell, Jada Townsell, Marissa White, and Sierra White.
Throughout her life, Carolyn loved to travel, and she and Reggie visited many destinations all over the United Stated together. Locally, they especially enjoyed spending time with friends on their houseboat on the Delta. Carolyn was an avid bingo player,  and had lots of fun playing the game with friends in the area. She was devoted to keeping in touch with her family, whom she loved dearly and regarded as the most important thing in life. For everyone who knew her, she set an amazing example of how to love one another, forgive and forget, have fun, remember that “everyday is a new day!” and that no matter what, there is always a reason to be grateful and smile. She was a relentlessly positive and loving woman who leaves behind a legacy of light and kindness that will continue to shine through her family and friends.
A special heartfelt Thank You to her loving caregivers, Judy Royce, Wilma & Jobert Castaneda, and Betty & Keith  Gemaehlich.
