I knew Carol because of the friendship between her daughter and my sister (the “Su-ies!”) and because I used to babysit her daughter. I would love going to their house, which always seemed magical - not because it was particularly fancy but because of the love that lived there.
I am sad to hear about Carol's passing. She was always so good and positive to me. I always felt valued by her, which meant a lot coming from such an intelligent, calm, wise woman. I can still hear her soothing and thoughtful voice, as if we are sitting in the same room right now. When I think of Carol, even now, I want to be a better person. I want to live up to her expectations.
I don't have the words to truly express the impact that Carol had on my life,Over the years I have described her as "my biggest cheerleader "my "second mom " and one of the most intelligent and witty people I've ever known. My heart breaks for her daughter. Please know that you are all very much in my thoughts and are holding a special place in my heart right now. Rest in peace, dear Carol
And since the three of us have spoken, I'll go ahead and pitch in for my older brother Tom, who once on a visit from New York, bolted out of Tampico on his long legs and ran down the street just for the opportunity to say hello to Carol. I'm quite sure he's happily awaiting that opportunity again now. The two of them... with their intellect and wit..will have an amazing reunion!
True love never dies. Although it may change it’s form, it lives on forever. The bond between Carol and Susan is so strong, I find great comfort in knowing this energy will last for eternity. Sue, draw from this energy when you’re feeling down. You were so blessed to have a mom who was also your best friend and sister. Lucky you! My love is with you always, Ingrid
Dear Susan,
I came across your obituary by accident. I was looking for an address to write to you to let you know how your book A Time To Grieve was the only support system I had when my parents and pets died. I had no one Carol, literally no one. But I had your book. Thank you to eternity. I still read it.
I read your obituary,am reading your book, Beyond Grief. In my anticipated grief over my wife's illnesses, I have hope that my work through my grief process will help me heal. Thank you, Carol!
