Aunt Carol was a generous, caring, loving person. I don't know how she knew the dates but she sent us cards and notes every birthday. She was also so sweet when sickness hit our family. She sent cards weekly with uplifting messages. We loved the day after Thanksgiving which was when her Christmas card would arrive, signaling the start of the holiday season. We will remember her always.
Carol was my "big cousin" and I was a bridesmaid at her & Bob's wedding when I was a teenager. She was very nice to me when I was growing up. She also shared my love of genealogy and was always helpful with family questions. I remember when she bought purple shoes and of course, our bridesmaids dresses were lavender. We lived far apart, but I will miss our email conversations!
When I was probably 10, and back in Chicago, my cousin Bobby married Carol. It was the first wedding I'd ever been to. I had never seen such a bubbly, fun, full-of-life person as Carol! We didn't see as much of them after they moved out to California, but I always remember them so fondly. We got to visit again recently when out in California. Grateful for keeping up thru FB thx Dan.
