Carmine was a wonderful man from a wonderful family. There are so many terrific memories from Dog Hill days and PHS. I send my love, and prayers for comfort and peace as you recall the best of times with him and James. So glad I got to visit with Carmine at our last Mega Reunion. I have moved back to Nebraska, so I am unable to attend the memorial service. Hugs to all. Penny
Virginia Beach Friends Meeting was blessed to have Tony attend Meeting. Though he had recently moved, he promised to visit us. We will miss those visits.
Carmine was my first cousin. I will never forget the good times we used have when we visited the Ruffa's in Petersburg. When you put the Ruffa and the Johnson families together you could be sure there was going to be a lot fun and wackiness going on. It reminded me of a bunch of Three Stooges interacting with each other. Carmine was one of the jokers who would play a joke on someone and he would hide out to make it look like he was not involved. Carmine was really funny when he did imitations of other well known people. He was a master of the play on words. He would say a word in print or by mouth and the word would mean something different than that word. We had been communicating for years by email. When he got sick, I made it a point to ask how he was doing every week. He would respond to my email every week until the week before he passed away. Carmine was a great first cousin, friend, funny guy, intelligent, and all around good guy. I will never forget the good times we had together.
Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.
