It was a lucky day when I met Carl in our neighborhood more than 10 years ago. I was walking our golden Cody and Carl and I struck up a conversation. Turns out he was manning the BC guard shack where I was teaching one night a week and he loved dogs. The home of Carl and his wife Judy became Cody's second home. He loved his time there and i truly enjoyed Carl's sense of humor.
Carl was the one of the best people I've ever known. I recently learned of his passing and greatly regret having lost touch. The memories I have of him, and the things I learned by listening to him will stay with me forever. The obituary is right: his hearty laughter was amazing. Thank you for everything, Carl. --SG
