This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Peter McLaughlin, 72, born on February 2nd, 1949 and passed away on August 12th, 2021. We will remember him forever.
It was with deep sadness to read of CAPT McLaughlin's passing. I have long appreciated his invaluable counsel, advice, and guidance in complex national security investigations and operations at NCIS. And I fondly remember Peter's sharp intellect, wise perspective, and great wit. Rest in peace, Great American.
I met Peter 38 years ago - he was one of my instructors at the Naval Justice School after I graduated law school. We served together for 3 years in Naples, Italy and later in Washington, DC. "Witty" would be an understatement of Peter's intellect - his knowledge of all things was vast. My sympathies go out to Joanne and the family. Fair winds and following seas to a great Shipmate.
I am so saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. I will forever remember his quick wit and amazing legal brain. We first met in 2004 at NCIS. I learned so much from him. May his family take comfort in knowing that Peter was truly loved and appreciated. May the Lord grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding in this your time of mourning.
Peter and I attended law school together. I will always remember his intellect, wit and sense of humor. He was definitely the comic relief in a tense setting. I have not seen him but am proud to have know him and so appreciative that people like Peter were looking after our country. Such a wonderful guy
I served with Peter at the Washington Navy Yard during the years 1996 through 2001. He was an extraordinary mentor and fabulous raconteur with a ready sense of humor. I valued his counsel and thoroughly enjoyed his company and sense of humor. I worked with him in the Criminal Law Division and followed him as an appellate judge on the NMCCA. .I am shocked by his passing.
I served with Peter at NLSO Pearl Harbor. Outstanding attorney and naval officer but importantly a really good guy. I am saddened to learn of his passing.
