We were Bruce's next door neighbor for three years.  Bruce was the best neighbor my family could have ever hoped for.  Bruce paid special attention to my kids, and he made sure he was the first to but candy in their Halloween bags.  He also recorded music with my daughter who played the flute and baritone sax.  The Wilson's

I've was one of Bruce's guitar students for 18 years. I'd look forward to coming to see him each week.   He was a great motivator for me, and I'd practice hard at home each week.  I couldn't wait to play what I'd been working on for him.  He was always positive and I never heard him say a bad thing about anybody, any band, any sports team, or any thing!   I will miss him every day.

Bruce gave our son guitar lessons starting around age 10 which motivated his big brother to join in.  Almost 40 years later... Our house has been full of music; both sons enjoy playing in bands and turning our living room into a place to jam with friends.Thank you Bruce.

I took guitar lessons from Bruce while I was in high school at SRVHS. He was truly an amazing teacher and you could tell how experienced he was during every session. I learned a lot from him (about guitar and life in general) and I feel blessed to have spent time with him. Thank you Bruce for everything

When I was 7, I took lessons from Bruce for about 1 year.  I may have been his youngest student up to that point. He was a great teacher helping this young metal head learn some of my favorite bands like Billy Idol and The Scorpions. I didn't stick with guitar, but my lessons with Bruce stuck with me. Rest in peace.

Just found out about this when visiting my parents in Danville.  Bruce Hock was "the" Well Spring of rock and roll in Danville during my time there in the 70's and 80's.  He was the primary person for getting kids interested in music even though I took lessons from Mike Williams his next door neighbor above Mr. Y's.  Talked to him every time I had a lesson from Mike.  Super nice guy.

Bruce was such a cool dude. He gave me guitar lessons and i was amazed that he taught me a song the first day, As Tears Go By, by the stones. Then a month later, he taught me a whole month of zeppelin. Always positive. We went to see him play at the branding iron in the early 80s. I took lessons from him for a year, he was the best guitar teacher ever.
