This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Brian Stonewell, born in 1941 and passed away in 2021. We will remember him forever.
Brian was a gentle soul, with a wry sense of humor - my husband Stephen and I loved him. We remember his excellent basketball playing - sometimes with Stephen.. And walks down Mass. Ave with Rosie, Molly, and Max (our much loved dogs) We ate at Changsho, and Mixit.
We miss him - and were glad to be there with Carolyn at the end.
Remembering Brian is easy. Though we didn't see him often because he and Carolyn lived so far away, I remember his easygoing ways and his being open to new things. A memory we have is of my daughter, Reina, when she visited Carolyn and Brian for the weekend in Boston. Brian had sat down at the piano with my 11-year-old and taught her Fur Elise, which she still plays today at 51.
They say first impressions are lasting. I think that is true - when I think of Brian I see the tall, lanky, free-spirited soul who was about to marry my cousin Carolyn. My favorite Brian memory - On one visit to New Jersey, Brian and Carolyn took my son Patrick and his cousin camping and Brian proceeded to tell them scary stories. I will miss Brian's warm smile and quiet humor.
One of my favorite memories of him was when he took my sister Carla and I camping. We set up the tent and told stories around the campfire, which he was really good at! He always took the time to talk and visit with us. He even made a trip out to our property when we were building our home. I'll never forget because he had to duck down to entered my kitchen : ) He will be missed.
