Brett was such a kind and gentle man.  We are stepbrothers, yet never lived in the same home because of our age difference.  Our lives rarely brought us together, but when they did, we could always pickup where we had left off.  His witt, charm, and intellect made it so easy. I have always been amazed at his breadth and depth of knowledge. Brett is gone much too soon for all who knew him.

I just wanted to share a few things about Brett. Brett and I came from different walks of life and cultures and didn’t always see eye to eye on things or always agree on the best way to do something or the pace at which to complete a task. However, I always admired and looked up to Brett for his character when it came to his family. I have done lots of stupid and dangerous things in my life but the most nervous I have ever been was when I asked Brett for permission to marry his daughter and become part of the family. Brett was a great brother to his sister Marcie, a model son to his mom and stepdad, he was a wonderful husband to Tammy and an awesome grandfather to my daughter. The thing I have come to respect and admire most in the years I have know him is how he was an amazing father to his two daughters Anna and Grace. They say having a daughter softens you up but I think it just changes your perspective on things. Brett always had a great perspective on things regarding his family. The greatest compliment I have received was from Brett. It was a few months after my daughter Laila was born. Brett had called me a good dad. I hope that one day I will be able to be half the father Brett was to his girls and have that same perspective for my daughter. I will always remember Brett as a family man and a model of what a brother, son, husband and father should be.

I am writing to offer my condolences to your family.  Death isn't anything that God ever intended for us.  Please note this Scripture of hope. It's found at Revelation 21 :4 "And he wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Please visit our website at www.jw.org to learn more about God's promises for the future.

A very special person! Always with a genuine smile.  A willingness to help with whatever was needed. This is the man I saw and appreciated.  Brett, I truely do not know how you continued with the smiles and being in the present with all that you deal with these past 10 years.  You will always be an inspiration for me.
