Bette and have been friends since grade school in Mason City. She and I worked in Glacier National Park one summer during our college yearsand later came to Portland, Oregon to live. We have kept up with each other. We had a nice phone visit a little over a month ago. I will miss my dearest and longest living friend. My heartfelt sympathy to Kathy and all of her family.
