Phyllis, your mother sounds like she was an amazing woman.  I know many of my WILPF friends knew her, I wish i'd had the privilege.  Even just through her obituary (and photos!) she seems like the kind of inspiring woman we all need in our lives.  I"m glad she was in yours - her joy and enthusiasm for life have sure been passed to you! From a time before I met her, I knew her through Phyllis.  I knew her through her stories and places she had traveled. I knew that we would be good friends.
We met later on in life, but I felt I knew her all the while.
