This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Barbara, M. (Maloney) Hann, 87, born on February 11th, 1936 and passed away on July 25th, 2023. We will remember her forever.
Barbara was a fighter, and didn't give into her breast cancer diagnosis without exploring all her options which included a mastectomy and chemotherapy. Though it ultimately returned, she was grateful for the 3 additional years of life she had. Her mind remained sharp throughout her life, and she could have lived for many years longer if not for cancer.
Barbara lived in Dunedin, FL, since 1991, and never regretted a single Boston winter she missed (can you blame her?). She was lucky to have great neighbors and enjoyed throwing block parties with them when she was able to host them.
She spent a number of years getting around in her "jazzy" which was a motorized scooter that she loved to take rides around in, and fittingly had a license plate on it that gave a nod to her Boston roots and read "Bumpah Stickah."
She was the best Nana a granddaughter could ever have.
We were lucky to become neighbors of Barbara in 2022. We cherish the short time we had with her. She quickly became the best neighbor and good friend. We already miss her welcoming smile and sense of humor. She was, and continues to be, an inspiration to us. Her memory will live on in our hearts. Many condolences to her family, especially her granddaughter, Jen, who we were able to meet.
I was blessed to be Barbara’s nurse, and more importantly, her friend. I fell in love with her smile, her natural optimism, and the love she felt for her granddaughter. It reminded me of my own beloved Nan. Rest in peace my sweet lady.
Our dear friend Ms Barbara. She was smart, witty and very creative. So many fun times together. We miss you and you will forever be in our hearts.
