Dr. Gemmell was a ray of sunshine to all who knew him. He was an outstanding student and extraordinary scholar. Professor Gemmell was a master in the classroom, and always kept a special place in his heart for students and alumni of Lincoln Law School of San Jose. On behalf of myself and the entire Lincoln family, thank you for sprinkling so much love and joy around. You will be missed.
There aren't many words I can post here. But Dr. Gemmell was not only a brilliant mind but, my uncle. We had a special relationship that crosses time zones and location. I was truly loved and felt the love he had for my husband and his great-nephew, Reuven. I miss you more than I can tell you and hope we can bring comfort to Aunt Barbara. May your memory be for a blessing for all of us,
Art Gemmell was a mentor, a boss, and a friend. I owe much of my career to what I learned from him. May his memory be eternal.
Art was a friend and a colleague. We met as a result of our shared focus on international arbitration and I was honored when he recommended me to take on his class at Santa Clara University. I will always remember him for his academic passion, caring, good humor and kind demeanor. He enriched the lives of his students, his colleagues, including me, and so many others in immeasurable ways.
Art was such a huge influence on me as a professor, mentor and friend. I am so grateful for all the times we spent together, for the connections I've made as a result and for everything I learned from him over the years. I truly wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Art's support, encouragement and generosity with his time and advice. Sending all my love and positive thoughts.
Art was one of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure to know. Huge heart, huge laugh, huge personality. To this day, I often think about things he's said - and the way he said them - that make me smile. He was a good friend, exceptional businessman and a true gentleman. He touched many lives, including my own. Art, you will be missed, forever loved and always remembered.
