Tom: or Sparrow as I knew him was one of the kindest, unassuming men that I have ever met.  Always seeming to be comfortable with his position in life and loving to his family. We had some memorably fun times over the years.  Even though our contact lessened as we aged I would have loved to have him as my brother, if I had one!
