Anna was a special person in my life. Anna was there for me from the time I began Summer marching band in late elementary school all the way until the end of her long life. She was a wonderful math teacher in middle school, an awesome colleague in my career, an wonderful mother to my wife and grandmother to my kids, and a great friend always. Rest in peace.

Anna was such a welcoming veteran teacher when I started working at “her” school. I always admired how she demanded and received the beat from her students. Rest In Peace.

I have known Anna (Nana Froebel as my kids call her) since I was in grammar school .  My husband and I grew up in San Martin with her children.  I loved her laugh, her smile, and her wonderful sense of humor.  She was a wonderful teacher and a great lady, she will be very much missed! ??????

The best mother-in-law ever! if I may share for all three of her daughters-in-law.... we are so extremely blessed to have such a supportive, loving, dynamic, no-nonsense, great cook mother-in-law who supported & loved us truly. She is our 2nd mom.  Mom, you are in heaven teaching math & making sure every boy that enters your classroom removes his hat....Love you, thank you, miss you xoxoxo

Anna was such a good friend and mentor throughout my time at Britton. Her love for students, her high expectations for all, and her willingness to share her magic is tribute to her greatness

Your mother and Nana must have been a very kind, loving and great lady. The manner that Jim and Cheri have led their lives with their families shows how wonderful Anna influenced them and how they honored her. With sympathy, love, and prayers for Anna’s Family.

Jazz Band member from Britton middle school here (2001-2004). Who also had the privilege of having Mrs. Friebel as a math teacher. She loved all of her students so much and only saw the best in all of us. I'll never forget being able to play anna vernettis spaghetti pie for her for the first time. Rest in peace Mrs. Friebel.

Mrs. Friebel was my favorite teacher at Britton Middle School as an eighth grader. She was stern and caring and made learning math a wonderful experience. Knowing her as an adult was an additional treat. I will miss her smile and humor. Rest In Peace Anna.

I was a Britton jazz band parent. Watching Anna interact with the kids it was apparent how much she enjoyed the kids and they enjoyed her. A life well lived. Rest In Peace Anna

Anna Friebel was my roommate every year for the band Disneyland trip. We had a lot of fun. She was an institutional treasure who taught many generations of adults and children so very many valuable lessons. RIP.

Nana always had the best stories about her teaching days. Our sons had her as a teacher at Britton and there was no nonsense in her classroom. She had some great sayings that the boys would come home, share and make us laugh. Love you Nana??

Nana,
I miss you so much. I loved having you as a teacher for 2 .5 years. You taught me so many things in life. Being the oldest grandchild I have grown to have many traits of you. I know you are my guardian angel now and you will always be with me.
Love you, Nana

Auntie Ann,
You have always been in my life.  I remember camping trips to Mt. Maddona, staying at the ranch on Foothill and Sycamore Ave for weeks on end, and of course, you were my math teacher.  Such sweet memories that I will always cherish.
I heard a poem "We Remember Them" by Sylvan Kamens and Jack Fiemer that made me think of you;
At the rising sun and at its going down; We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter; We remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer; We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn; We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends; We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as We remember them. When we are weary and in need of strength; We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart; We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make; We remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share; We remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs; We remember them.
For as long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as We remember them. You will be forever in my heart.

Nana you will be so missed.  I loved staying at your place when we went to California playing cards, watching movies, cooking/baking, and swimming in the pool.  Your place was so fun and I loved the time spent with you. Every time I use my Kitchen Aid I smile and think of you. Your memories live on in all our hearts and we love you so much. ??
