I met Ann in college. Like most teenage men, I had rough edges, insecurities and much self doubt. Ann was dating Rob, but understood and befriended me. She was perhaps my first genuine female friend. She introduced me to my first real girl friend. This role of support and kindness continued through the years and led me to achieve a modicum of maturity.
