Alice Barkin was one of the most intelligent and kind people I ever knew. She was also an excellent listener, encourager and had a musical laugh, terrific sense of humor. I haven't seen her or spoken with her in years but will never forget her imaginative, generous, loving nature.

Alice and I worked together at Family Service in Dedham.  She was a very kind person who never complained about getting old.  It amazed me how she would drive from Brookline to Dedham to see her clients and moderate her groups with such love and devotion.  
Alice had an amazing sense of style and her clothes reflected that.  RIP Alice!

Alice Barkin was a lady and a scholar. Lovely and kind , interesting and interested. I was Alice’s hair stylist for years and enjoy every time she came to see me. When Alice was no longer able to get to me I always made sure to call her to see how she was and visvera. As time went on we did loose track and I worried but I see in the obit that she happily lived with her son and daughter i-l
