Cathi and family, very sorry for your loss. I worked with Al in years past. I will never forget the first trip we took to Japan together and what a hit he was in many of the small towns with fair hair and football player size! Just walking through the train stations would create a crowd! Great easy-going guy that was appreciated by everyone. Take care, Lance
Hi Cathy and family, What a shock to see Al's obit in the North Shore News. So sorry for your loss. When I last saw you in Corvallis you were settling in to life in the States in a lovely part of Oregon. I am glad to see that Al found a position with Roseburg Lumber. They could certainly benefit from the expertise that he had to offer. My condolences for a life lost way too early. Phil
Cathi and family.

Hi Cathi - Please accept my condolences with the passing of Al. He was an exceptional accountant, sales manager and business leader when I knew him at MB. I always valued Al's advice, because it was grounded in the realities of a business he knew well. Nice to see he finished up his career with a company that could take full advantage of his knowledge. I hope time eases your sorrow,
Albert Rader Soreng was a TITAN OF GREAT HEART. I was close to him from the 3rd grade though to the end of 2nd year university, and have hardly seen him in the 47 years since. I have lived in many countries and known many eminent men but Albert still stands out amongst them all. He was a physical giant with mobility, stamina, coordination and an iron will. He was always at the top of his class and he was always a well spoken gentleman. He was a true friend through the formative years of life. He left behind him legions of defeated bullies, innumerable rugby fields ploughed to mud, and long lines of disappointed shot-put finalists. He is irreplaceable. My heartfelt condolences to Cathi, and I cannot help feeling the deepest best wishes for Eric and Blake, whom I have never seen.

Dear Cathi,
Diana and I were talking about the early years when your name cropped up. We mentioned that we had both tried to locate you over the last few decades but were unsuccessful. Trying again, we came across this obituary I am so saddened by this news. I lost Doug in 2019 also. It is gut wrenching and my heart goes out to you and the boys.
