This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Alan Teachworth, 61, born on May 7th, 1957 and passed away on September 19th, 2018. We will remember him forever.
Please consider sharing your thoughts about Alan. Many of you shared with me directly it would be special to share with friends and family.
Not only was he my cousin he was one of my best friends. Being with him was a rollercoaster ride. He gave me more in life than I could ever return. I will be forever grateful that Alan was a part of my life.
Alan was my brother in law. Living in Alaska we usually only saw him once a year. Despite his disabilities Alan was always willing to participate in family activities, whether this was an outing too sight see or dinner. Alan lived life large, always smiling and talking! The man always had something to say on most any topic. I was always amazed at how Alan knew all the best places to eat. Didn’t matter where you were. Maybe he was part bloodhound and could sniff out the hidden gems or maybe he did his research online. He visited us this past winter in Alaska at Christmas time. He took such delight in the winter landscapes and decorating the Christmas tree.
Once I had someone cut my hair and it didn’t go well. I still remember the look of horror on his face. He said you have bangs in the back of your head! Brutal but true. Alan tried his best to help but he could only do so much. I remember being grateful that he tired. Plus, I was glad he could make me laugh at my predicament.
I’ll miss you Alan!
I have not seen Alan for years but at one time when Cork and I worked together I would see him on a regular basis. He had the beauty shop on Broad street and I and my daughter,Shelley, had Alan as our stylists. He was a good hairdresser and I enjoyed his sense of humor. He was loved by his mother and father very much. I know Cork is feeling a big hole in his heart now. Rest In Peace Alan
Alan I cant believe this .you have been such a large part of my life and I love you . I know you have been in a lot of pain for years and you always handled it well . You always smiled and , laughed .You always looked for the good in everyone . my heart is breaking. I love you
Alan, as your cousin, I'll always remember your smile and how much family meant to you. It was a big part of your life. Our mom's loved each other so there were many trips to Ionia to see Uncle Cork , Aunt Mag, and our cousins. It was always about "Family" and love for each other. I love you Alan and my teachworth family. :-)

Sorry to hear the news. My prayers are with Cork and family.
I only heard the news yesterday (after the memorial took place, unfortunately). Alan was a dear friend whom I greatly loved. I always appreciated his sense of humor and his many talents. He was a great companion for conversation, art & design, food & wine, religion & spirituality. I will surely miss him and remember him always. My best and warmest regards to Mr. Teachworth and his brothers
