Ahmad was one of the most important influences on my thinking in college. He was remarkable in so many ways. He was kind and he worked kindly and patiently to  improve how we thought about our differences and backgrounds. Dr. Haffar had a profound influence on my life and thinking. He introduced me to Thomas Hobbes & Hegel in the most accessible way and opened my eyes to the idea of "know thyself", as well as Alexis de Tocqueville.
