I listened to Dr Bill on KGO radio. Dr Bill was the smartest man on the radio. I met his lovely wife and daughters when I worked at JCP in Chico. I'm so sorry for their loss. I'm so saddened that an intelligent voice of reason has been silenced
Most loving husband and father. We have been blessed to be loved by you and will cherish all the memories we had together. Forever you will live on in our hearts.
Listened to Dr. Bill since 2007 while in high school. He was a major influence that made me push into science and engineering in college. Sad to hear of his passing. He brought reason and common sense thinking to millions on just his show alone.
Bill was such a great person to have a conversation with as he was so knowledgable about every subject. Our family spent many years enjoying his private lodge and he was so gracious with his hospitality. He will be very missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carol and his wonderful children.
I called Bill on KGO in 1983 to discuss a new AM antenna we had. He told me I should be advertising on his show instead of plugging my antenna, so we did. He was instrumental is supporting our brand-new company and helped make it what it is today up until early this year. He was an amazing and gracious man. Thank you from all of us at C. Crane. We will miss you. Robert C. Crane
My deepest condolences to the Wattenburg family. Your husband/dad was certainly the rarest of all gems. His brilliance and sense of humor were such a great combination! For his many phenomenal contributions to society whether it be a smoke alarm, helping the blood bank, fighting fires, struggling to keep Yosemite available for poor folks, et cetera we are all indebted. Thanks Dr. Bill.
God bless Bill Wattenburg. He was a very kind and humble voice on the radio for decades that I listened to him. He did a lot to explain things to people. He was the best host KGO ever had. Many a Saturday and Sunday night from the '80s onward I used to listen to him. I hope his family is doing well. I also hope people can share his podcasts as a tribute. A gold mine of good listening.
