My memories of Wanda go back to the early 2000's at one of the Begonia events here in Massachusetts. Right from the start, I knew there was something very special about her and our mutual love for Begonias and Gesneriads planted the seed of our friendship. Wanda, you've left a lasting impression with me and you will be missed dearly. Rest in peace my friend.
When she turned her bright blue eyes to mine and said "You really like begonias, don't you?" I knew I had a new friend. She was generous with her time and her plants, always encouraging even when I killed the plants she gave me. She'd give me another and cheer when, this time, it survived. Such a wonderful spirit!
Wanda and her husband, Dick, were my landlords for 10 years. Wanda had such enormous vitality—always gardening, cooking, and volunteering—it seems impossible to think that she has passed away. She was so kind and SO devoted to her family (and begonias). Love to Dick and condolences to everyone else in her life.
