From my perspective Suzanne was the heart, soul, and prime mover in setting up the school (Little Big Horn H S. )As a youth she dreamed of improving the lives of Native American communities. She graduated in 1964 from Regis College, and spent three years as a teacher among the native population in Alaska. She eventually returned to the lower 48states to pursue a masters degree in community social work at the University of Chicago. She did her internship at the American Indian Center. After graduating with a Masters Degree of Social Work in 1971, she was employed by the Chicago Board of Education to help establish the high school for  Native American  dropouts. Suzanne found the  dropouts and met with them and their parents to encourage enrollment.  She became the school social worker.
Suzanne was totally dedicated, highly enthusiastic, infinitely energetic, extraordinarily clever, and wonderfully creative in supplying materials for the school at minimal or no cost. I was originally going to help just a few hours in the afternoon. But she was desperate for help and frequently called me at 8 a.m., usually just two hours after I went to bed. I would meet her at 10.
