This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Russell Mann, Jr. We will remember him forever.
I worked with Russ at ASRHS and what I will always remember is how happy and friendly he was. He would always stop in first thing in the morning just to say hello and always had a kind word to say. He will truly be missed as a friend and colleague. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
I met Russ on the Lowell to Boston train while he was going to BU and I was working there. We knew each other on and off for years. He was always cheerful and a smart, and caring person. My heart goes out to his family as I know how important family was to him. I hope he didn't suffer prior to death. From when I knew him, he always took care of himself. May he rest in peace.
I met Russ in the early 2000's while we were members of the same gym. We become quick friends after realizing we were both connected to teaching and the music business. I remember all our conversations about how we relished the "classic music" and despised the music of the "Kids these days!". He was a consummate gentleman, brilliant, and a kind man and I shall miss him.
He was a great friend and Air Force buddy. We were stationed together for several years at Hickam AFB, Oahu, Hawaii from 1967 - 1971. While we were serving our time in PACAF Honor Guard, we became 'best friends'. We guarded the Headquarters Building and performed together on the Drill Team. I recall during a practice drill; my bayonet accidently made a slight cut in Russ' arm. He shrugged it off and we hugged. Russ visited my wife, Vivian, and I in Southern California several times. Stayed with us while on the West coast. You will be missed Russ and we will see you again.
