You were one of the three Art teacher at Santa Cruz High School. I will always remember the freedom we had in class to be creative and talk about our art. Mr. G was one of the other teachers along with Ms. Brennan, who taught pottery, etc.
Condolences to the family and cheers for a life well lived.
I knew Mr. Jones as THE art teacher at Santa Cruz High from1958-1961. I was not an art student but I remember students always referring to him as a good guy, cool guy, good teacher. There were a few occasions that I briefly communicated with him or heard him speaking to a group of kids in the hallways. He was soft-spoken and in comparison during those times, very approachable.
Ross was a wonderful Mentor to me. To read my story about Ross, please click on the "Stories" tab above.
Ross was a wonderful next door neighbor to our family. He’d grow veggies and share them, and even gave my little girls a wooden rocking horse he had made for his own grandkids but they had outgrown it. He was kind and considerate with a terrific sense of humor. I wish we could have bought the house we were renting so we could have stayed neighbors! Sorry to learn belatedly of his passing.
