Working with Bob at TV12  on the Scene Tonight was a wonderful experience, and I loved  to stand in the studio watching him do Sailor Bob shows!   It makes me smile to think about those times.

Thoughts and prayers for "Sailor Bob's" family, he was a household icon for many years.  My brother and I always watched him and the many characters he created.  I remember his art work and the way he talked while he drew, he was a calming influence on many a 'wild' child.  God Bless.

My prayers for the family, friends, those who felt like family members of our precious Sailor Bob. Like so many I grew up watching Sailor Bob and seeing many friends on his show. I also met him when my Daddy worked with him at one point in their lives. Mr. Griggs was a very sweet, kind, caring person. A Virginia Icon who gave so much and who will be remembered forever. Thank you.

What a sad loss to us all in Richmond Va. One of the fondest memories of my childhood was watching his show every morning! I second the motion of the gentleman on the recent documentary to erect a monument in memory of Sailor Bob in our monumental city. His smile now brightens Heaven.     Michael W. Brooks

Thoughts and prayers for the family of Sailor Bob.  He was my only childhood "hero" and I still have a sailor hat signed by him and given to me.  Such a great program and I loved his drawings and calm demeanor.   God bless!  

Sailor Bob made such an impression on me as a child and all of Virginia, I was able to see him back then on one of his outings and the impact he had on me was the likes of a rock star! Ironically I became a musician then onto a marine mechanic. What an artist and person he was. God bless the Griggs family.

My prayers to friends & family.   It was such a joy to watch Sailor Bob work his magic when I was employed at WCVE.   His dedication to his craft was amazing as was his humility.  His memory will live on in all of us that he touched with his grace & humor.
