I remember Dick from the 8th grade at Roosevelt JHS in Melrose. A swift runner, he won races in the track meet with the other JHS's. I could believe that he never took pleasure from another's unhappiness. In the phys ed shower, another boy looked at a physically underdeveloped classmate and exclaimed, "Abbot! No hair yet?!" Dick then barked sharply, "Shut up, Teague!" (pseudonyms used)
