I am so sorry to hear of the death of your loved one.  Death isn't anything that God ever planned for us. I have found this Scripture to be of comfort.  It's found at Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore."
