Mike joined the leadership team of the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail in 2016, and what a wonderful addition he was to our team. Mike took on all kinds of tasks, and never hesitated to say: "I'll do that"! We have only been able to delegate a few of his tasks to other volunteers--no one could fill his shoes on the entire scope of his involvement. Mike is an irreplaceable member of the TPT family
Even in retirement, Mike would come by the office and check in, getting updates, keying in on important business endeavors. I had the pleasure of giving Mike regular updates on a significant project within Haws. Mike would come to my office, we would get personal updates on each of our lives, then talk about business. I always had the feeling that Mike had my back regardless of if the information was good or bad. He was a sweetheart of a man.
I have to think that Mike is now in a VW Bug driving through the Florida Keys, completing one of the bucket list things he wanted to do that got postponed by the pandemic. He told me that he and Karen cut a cross county trip short many years ago and did not complete the journey down to the end of keys, something that they had planned to rectify in 2020 when things shut down. Hope you have some good weather and uncrowded roads this time.
