Whomever proofed the submitted article changed AR to Arizona.  AR is the abbreviation for Arkansas.  

Steve was one of the finest men I ever knew. We worked together at Dixie for a number of years and were friends for over 40 years. For the last 10 years or so we had contacted each other by email several times a day. Darlene and I always stopped by his home in TN, when ever we traveled to the East Coast. He was a great friend that will be forever missed.
