Mr. Pendergraft, my 4th grade teacher, has remained a pivotal figure in my mind. I remember his extreme kindness, love of the beautiful Japanese culture, good penmanship, classical music, and the study of clouds.  He was my first male teacher.  And I fell in love with him.
