This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Pura Azucena (Susan) Fortwengler. We will remember her forever.

Pura Azucena "Susan" Fortwengler passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday evening at the age of 72. Beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed by all. The eldest of 8 siblings, she was born in Del Rio, Texas to Olivia and Sostenes Rodriguez, and made her home in San Jose, California for most of her childhood and adult life. Married to the late Michael Alexander Fortwengler, she is survived by her mother, Olivia, and four children, David, Kevin, Michael and Heidi and three step-daughters Frances, Patti and Nancy. She will be remembered most for her deep appreciation of nature, her calm and determined demeanor, and her sharp attention to detail and eye for perfection in all aspects of life. Her favorite place on earth was Yosemite National Park, and that is where her spirit will always remain.
