When I came to St. Olaf in 1982, I was a new kid (at 44) on an old block. Lynn engaged me and made my first few years as pleasant as possible, until I got my feet on the ground. He was always just plain nice to me, always upbeat, and ever so enthusiastic about what could and should be done in science and math education. I will always recall Lynn fondly.
