The first thing that came to mind when Tabitha Roth asked me if I remembered  was her infectious smile. What a horrible disease, of which I am very familiar having had a dear friend give birth to a baby who could not even open his eyes. He died at 7 months. I am sorry for your loss. RIP Karen!
