Mr Porter was one of my all time favorite teachers. He is the reason I wanted to go to Wake Forest, and his recommendation is likely the reason I got in. I will always remember having him for back to back classes where he basically taught the same material twice. I could always get an excused absence if I brought him a biscuit from McDonalds.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Porters passing. Having graduated from Meadowbrook HS in '77, I remember Mr. Porter well and he was a favorite teacher of so many. My late aunt from NC was very good friends with his late mother and they traveled often on bus trips together. I always think of Mr. Porter when I catch a episode of "Battle of the Brains". My deepest sympathies to his family.
