Erich is a good person and a true friend. He always went above and beyond to help, especially in caring for his nephew and niece, Gary and Angel, whom I have had the privilege of providing foster care for over the years. Erich’s passing has left a deep hole in my heart, and I don’t think he ever fully realized just how much I appreciated his friendship and the support he gave me.
I miss you more than words can express, Erich—and so do the kids, and so do many others whose lives you touched in ways you may never have known. The silver lining in your passing, Erich, is the undeniable and comforting truth that you are still very much alive, in our memories and in our hearts. I pray that you will continue to watch over us, those of us still walking through mortality.
