R.I.P Don. We met in 1982 while I was stationed in The Philippines. He lived in the same compound as I did, so when he was not working in Alaska, I'd see him almost every day. We have kept in touch since then. You have been a great friend. I will never forget the good times we have had together. We will all miss you!
I first met Don Don back in 1995 when I moved to Angeles City. I did not know him well for the first few years but later we became close friends. His stories were legendary here and he used to always say “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story,” he will be truly missed by many as we had some great times and laughs in his company. R.I.P my friend.
Don Don showed up at my dive center in La Union around 1984 and we hit it off immediately. He became a regular dive buddy underwater and a drinking buddy topside. Don's many stories were hair raising and hysterically funny. I can't retell any of them here as I wold get kicked off the forum, but those of us who knew Don probably know most of them anyway! RIP Captain Velcro.
I met Don in 1988 in the Philippines. We became good friends and had some fun times during my time there. We both spent time in Alaska where we shared our passion for shooting the Colt M1911 and cold beer. His "never let the truth get in the way of a good story" did not apply here, he could shoot! He was a "Man Among Men" and will be missed by his family and friend around the globe. R.I.P
Don Don was one of my favorites and proud to have been able to call him a friend. Great times in the Philippines back in the day. R I P

Don was a good friend who could make a one minute story last 10 hilarious minutes. Truly a legend in his own time. Met him in 1987 and was neighbors with him in a small compound. Did done diving with him as well as drinking afterwards. We remained DB friends till the end. Last time we met was at Vascos in Subic.
Grabbed Scharzkopf’s it doesn’t take a hero and randomly put Dons obituary in it. I cried when I noticed it was neatly filed on page chapter twelve.
