Les was a giant in software engineering research. I first met Les at a conference in 1979. I had the pleasure of working with him at MCC from 1985 to 1989. Under his leadership we produced groundbreaking research that challenged the existing models of how software systems are designed. He was always encouraging us to drive further, answer more questions, and build more innovations.
Les was a neighbor and fellow tech industry leader. He was a gentle voice of confidence and reason through the development of Austin Texas as a national entrepreneurship leading city.
A beautiful and brilliant man and citizen.
