Brad, Kym, Kori, and children: your mom was such a lady. Bet Dick is really happy to see her. Thinking of you with love, Barry and Vicki

Karen and I were in the same class for several grades at Woodland Park Elementary School.  The two of us were so advanced in reading comprehension that in 4th grade Mrs. Danielson put just the two of us in our own reading group, and we read Readers Digest articles instead of grade-level book.  We were kind of sweet on each other, but of course at that age not much we could do with that.

The reference to her valedictorian status and perfectionism in writing fits with my memories of her.  I ended up as salutatorian at Cordova High School and had a wonderful career as journalist and public policy advocate in Minnesota.  I don't know what possessed me to search for her online today, and was so sad to see she passed away.  My memories of her are bright and happy.
