I always admired John as a man, a husband and a father. Truly enjoyed the privilege of singing in Hope's choir with him. He will truly be missed. My prayers are with his family.  God Bless.

I worked with John for several years at Martin Murphy Middle School.  He was a great teacher and he was so accepting of all kids. He had a very dry sense of humor which was so entertaining. He was so proud of his family —his wife and his beautiful girls. I am so very sorry for your loss. We are all better for having known John, and he will be missed.

John & I were teachers at Murphy for years.  I always loved his dry sense of humor.  It was so exciting when he got married and when he became a father!  Funny thing, but I remember when he shared his almonds with me. :)   He truly was one of a kind.  John was much too young for this ...    Wishing you & the girls peace going forward.  John was one of the good ones.  So sorry ...

He was my middle school history teacher. Mr. Dummler had a kindness that couldn’t be found anywhere else, where student and teacher could be recognized as equals. His quiet quips were always so funny and are unforgettable even today. Truly a gentle soul, may he Rest In Peace, and his family be well. I will always remember you Mr. Dummler, thank you so much for what you have given us all.

I just read the news. I’m shocked and saddened. John was, as Heather has written, one of a kind. That obituary is spot on. Girls be proud that your father was smart, caring, and courageous.

I had Mr. Dummler as a history teacher in middle school. He was one of my favorite teachers and I remember how accepting he was of all of us and always made us laugh with his dry sense of humor, I will never forget him announcing to us that his wife was pregnant and that they were having their first child. He was so excited and I’m forever grateful to have met him, Rest In Peace. ?????
