There are no words.
There are no words for the loss of my friend.
There are no words that sufficiently convey the pain and sympathy.
There are however memories.
Memories of simpler times.
Memories of shared stories and times well spent together.
Memories of a kind soul and gentle smile.
These memories bring feelings that can’t easily be framed in words, but make us hug all our loved ones a little tighter, talk a little longer, and pause in our own thoughts for some quiet reflection.
I’m grateful for our time together. I will miss you, Jacob.

Jacob was my advisee. He was proactive, good natured, and had a clear vision of his educational pursuits. He built his own Interdisciplinary Studies major: Business and Urban Development, and took a blend of courses to accomplish that mastery. He was a joy to work with. I am so sorry to hear of his passing - this is a terrible loss. Sending my condolences to the family - I will miss him.
