Oh my, this news, is beyond sad! My memories of Stumper to Buddy and Hector, too, span close to 60 years.  Every one of them, belly laughs and crazy fun times. I cannot wrap my mind around this.  A song, from Chicago, comes to mind "It was a good time, it was the best time, it was a party,  just to be near you"  
Buddy, cherished memories, forever, in my heart.

Very sad news. Buddy was a good friend to all. We were friends from "JP" in the 60's.
He left everyone he touched with great memories.

Just heard today that Bud passed away.  Sorry to hear it as he was a great friend where we lived on same block on Neillian Crescent in Jamaica Plain.
