Ed was all he was as described so well in his obituary, and more !  I met him at the home of his parents on Monument Avenue, working on automobiles.  He was, besides a great friend and gentleman, a true automotive enthusiast.  I never felt ill at ease with Ed, to the contrary, he was very gentile and people oriented.  I would have to say that he exemplified the Virginia gentleman perfectly
