Dr Payne was one of the most talented, kindest, courageous and soft spoken human beings I have ever met. It was an honor to train under his guidance and I will always appreciate how he influenced my own ability and character.
He was a true “gentleman surgeon.”
God bless him and his family.
God bless Dr. Payne. He saved my premature daughter’s life by performing a miracle heart surgery. Staci was only 4 pounds on July 12, 1989 when Dr. Payne operated on what he told us was the smallest baby at that time. We will never forget him. May god be with his family during this difficult time. His soul is surely in heaven with Jesus. With love and sympathy Doriann & Brian Feeney
I am sorry to learn of Dr. Payne's passing. Dr. Payne and Dr. Warner did emergency surgery on me in 2003 after I was med-flighted to Tufts. It was near the Christmas holidays, so these two doctors were apparently the few on duty. They saved my life that night. I remember visiting with Dr. Payne after recovery a year later and he took a great interest in me as a patient. RIP Dr. Payne.
