So sorry to hear of David's passing, just heard today.
I have known David for 35 years as a supplier to J Lohr Winery. He was honorable and a very hard worker, always arriving early. I actually never thought he would retire but was happy that he did. I am sorry for your loss, Neila. He was a great friend and an asset to the wine industry.
Neila,
My family and I are sending you our deepest condolences. It was a pleasure working for David at J.Lohr. He was a great mentor and friend who I will forever be grateful to. He will greatly be missed.
Sincerely.
Albert, Gloria and Sophia Perez
David has been a dear friends over the past 40 + years! I will sorely miss his sense of adventure, curiosity, tenacity and his kind generosity. With Neila, we three accomplished 49 out of 50 San Francisco walks plus many more outings, finding coffee houses wherever we went. He supported the arts and humanities in countless ways and showed unconditional love for his family. Always, Carolyn
I'm deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I worked with David for several years up until his retirement in 2016. I have many fond memories of David and the thought of him always brings a smile to my face. He was a true Renaissance man that will be sorely missed.
Dave and I were college room mates during the Viet Nam Era. He could always create fun on rhe weekends and Val was always a riot. Even with all the party-part and demonstrations, we all got through school. Dave had a beautiful bro-sister relationship with Val. They have both passed now, but I will never forget that bro-sis relationship. It helped me with my own bro and sister.
Jerry and everyone associated with JLW got lucky the day David walked through the door at 1000 Lenzen Avenue.
David wasn’t your average American winemaker. As an Italian, I always felt coming from him a deep passion and curiosity for everything European. He always had a question on what would we do or eat or drink. He loved coming to breath the colture in San Francisco. He had called me to tell me he was coming that week but I was in lockdown already. I know I’ll miss him at every wine show now
David was very special. Neila and David befriended me several years ago. David and I shared a love of cooking, food and art. We spent much time adventuring. Many times we spent cooking together as well as traveling to taste cheeses, wine or beer. And there was always a smattering of seeing art also. I will miss him terribly, his love of life and family.
I worked for David for 8.5 years. He was a one of a kind boss and person. My heart goes out to his family.
Dave was one of a kind, in a world and time when more of his kind are needed.
Dave was my part time neighbor in San Francisco. He was a great guy, not because he was hard working and trustworthy, and would do anything you asked of him, but he knew how to be a friend and make others want to be his friend.
Travel well my dear friend.
Dear La Boule D’Or members and friends,
It is with a sad heart that I am sending on this news of the loss of another member of our club.
David Mezynski passed away in March. We just found out when his wife Neila contacted players yesterday at our terraine in Golden Gate Park.
David was enthusiastic, fun and funny. He played frequently in group play and individually with regulars.
He will be missed.
Best
Jack McKinnon

Happy Birthday my sweetheart! Today you are 73 ... I miss you .
David was a kind & good spirited person. Our family enjoyed spending time with him. Our visits together to South Africa and Hungary are memories I/we will cherish. David's passion for local culture, food and wine were self evident. The many meals shared brought laughter and live long memories. He is missed. Warmly, The Molnar Family
